Hardline Drive came together as a band in December 2006, and in a short time has accomplished more than we every dreamed. Each member brings to the band years of experience in both traditional and newer forms of bluegrass music, with a focused attention on producing original material.
While our musical heritage goes back to the music of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and Jimmy Martin, a significant amount of our influences come from bands like Alison Krauss and Union Station, Lonesome River Band, The Tony Rice Unit, IIIrd Tyme Out, Blue Highway, Mountain Heart, The Infamous String Dusters, Cadillac Sky, and many others. We try to draw from various other styles of music, which helps create the kind of sound that defines our band.
As a band, we place a great deal of emphasis on solid timing, and tight harmonies, which is the hallmark of the kind of bluegrass we believe people want to hear. We like to offer our audiences a taste of
Original Compositions
Traditional Favorites
Contemporary Classics
Though a newly formed band, the members of Hardline Drive are seasoned veterans with years of experience in other bands throughout the region. We also have experience as music publishers,
songwriters, and promoters. |

A woman with many talents and abilities, Toni graces Hardline Drive with her powerful lead vocals that resonate a bluesy feel that is second to none. She began singing bluegrass music while sitting in as a guest singer with local bluegrass band, The Paint Creek Boys, but only began singing seriously about a year ago, just prior to the founding of Hardline Drive.
She is a gifted songwriter, and continually creates thought-provoking songs for the band’s repertoire. Toni has even begun studying the fiddle, and is coming along just fine. She has a wonderful little girl named Hanna (or Hanna Boo), loves horses, the great outdoors, animals, cooking, and design. No doubt a renaissance woman that will make an impact on the musical community. |

With a rich heritage from West Virginia and Kentucky, Greg was born into a family filled with bluegrass musicians. As a young boy he was exposed to the sounds of Larry Sparks, Tony Rice, Ricky Skaggs, and many other great bluegrass musicians. At age 15 he began playing the banjo, but after his dad showed him how to play rhythm, and the famous G run on the guitar, he was hooked.
Prior to Hardline Drive, Greg developed his chops playing in several bands, including a Gospel group with his uncle. Greg is a phenomenal rhythm guitar player and helps drive the band with an incredible amount of energy and timing. He organizes the band’s material for every practice, and helps to write and arrange some of the songs the band performs. He also plays a mean dobro on occasion. He is a avid bow hunter and outdoorsman.

Danielle began playing the mandolin when she was 8 years old, and has been singing since she was 4 years old. She grew up singing in Church, but owes a great deal her musical influence to her grandfather who not only exposed her to bluegrass music, but also swing music. In addition to mandolin, she can play the up-right bass, fiddle, and saxophone.
Danielle’s strong and relentless chop on the mandolin lends a great deal of forward motion to the band, and her lead and harmony vocals add a bluesy, if not jazzy, feel to whatever she sings. She has written several great songs that the band has included in it’s line-up. She is a student at Central Michigan University, studying Criminal Justice with a minor in audio technology. She hopes to live in Tennessee one day, and own a recording studio. |

David has more than 30 years of experience in bluegrass music, not only in performance, but also in teaching, media, and live show promotion. His family has its roots in east Tennessee, and he remembers listening to his relatives play and sing old time mountain music on trips down south.
It was at this time he developed a love for southern music, and bluegrass in particular. He provides solid banjo timing and snap for the band, and also sings baritone vocals behind Toni and Danielle. He is a proud daddy of four sweet children, a writer, occasional philosophy and history teacher, newspaper editor, writer, poet, and seeker of wisdom. |
